Elaine was born and raised in a small town in Lancaster County, PA, and married and relocated to New Jersey in 1984. She was a stay-at-home mom, but when her children started school, she attended Rutgers University, earned her MLS, and started her career as a children’s librarian at Hamilton Township Public Library, eventually managing the children’s department. She retired in 2020, after 25 years of service.
Elaine has enjoyed making music since childhood. She sang in and accompanied her high school, college and church choral groups, and has been a member of Hopewell Valley Chorus for several years. Throughout her life, Elaine has engaged in many hobbies and activities; favorites that have endured are walking, traveling with her husband, playing piano, and reading.
